1. What Coach Pen is

Coach Pen is a writing-improvement tool. It marks writing you submit, gives coaching feedback, and teaches techniques through practice exercises. It can target specific assessments (such as NSW Selective, IELTS, and NAPLAN), but it is an independent study aid — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for any exam board, school, or official body.

2. Accounts and eligibility

• You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login details secure.
• If you are under the age of consent in your region, a parent, guardian, or school must create and supervise the account and accept these terms for you.
• The information you give us must be accurate.

3. Subscriptions, billing & refunds

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly cycle and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
• Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are generally non-refundable. If something goes wrong, contact us — we aim to be fair.
• Prices may change, but we'll give notice before a change affects you.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content you don't have the right to submit.
• Misuse the service — including attempting to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer it.
• Use Coach Pen to break the law or to cheat in a way a school prohibits.
• Resell or redistribute the service without our permission.

5. Your content

The writing you submit stays yours. You grant us a limited licence to process and store it solely to provide the service to you — for example, to mark it, generate feedback, and show your history. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI feedback — what to expect

Coaching, marks, and band or score estimates are generated with AI. They are guidance to help you improve, not a guaranteed prediction of any official result. AI can make mistakes. Use your own judgement and treat estimates as practice signals, not promises.

7. Our intellectual property

The Coach Pen software, lessons, designs, and branding are ours and are protected by law. These terms don't give you ownership of them — only permission to use the service while you comply with these terms.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee particular results, scores, or exam outcomes. To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability arising from the service is limited. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

9. Suspension & termination

You can stop using Coach Pen at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or that we're required to act on. You can ask us to delete your account whenever you like.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Coach Pen after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your home country.
